This winter is going to be different for everyone, and many will find it tougher than usual. South London Cares are working hard to make sure that older people in South London stay connected this winter, by running online social clubs, and matching older and younger neighbours together to stay in touch over the phone. 

I'm supporting South London Cares by taking part in the SLC Santa Run (which due to Covid is now a "virtual challenge"), raising money to prevent loneliness and isolation in the local community - a cause which is very close to my heart. 

I've found running to be a real constant during such a turbulent year, and invaluable in improving my mental health, so I leapt at the opportunity to take part in the Santa run. It wasn't until lockdown 1.0 that I managed my first ever 10k - let's hope I've still got it in my locker!!
