As some of you may know, our rather lovely eldest child, Iris, has global developmental delay. This means that she can not yet walk or talk and takes much longer to learn things than her peers. There are a number of neurological and medical symptoms contributing to this, but we don't know why and have no official diagnosis. 

Iris has always made consistent progress and this is down to physiotherapy, speech therapy, play therapy (and a good pinch of bloody mindedness!). Accessing these therapies regularly can be something of a lottery and as a parent you inevitably end up looking for other ways to empower your child to reach their full potential. 

Each year hundreds of thousands of children are born with brain conditions that affect their social, communication and learning abilities. Bibic is a national charity offering life changing therapies and individualised strategies to families caring for children with conditions like autism, aspergers, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, developmental delay, brain injury and specific learning difficulties like ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. They specialise in understanding the causes of challenging behaviour and can even offer support if a child has not been diagnosed with a condition. This climb is to raise essential funds to allow bibic to help these children and their families.
