A FIT-TING TRIBUTE TO OUR "ELSIE" - MAGS COLMAN
As you know, it was with the heaviest of hearts that we recently announced the devastating news of the sudden and unexpected passing of our feisty, bold and brave Elsie, aka our LC (Lead Consultant) Mags Colman, on Sun 7th June 2020.
We have been so overwhelmed with all your wonderful tributes to Mags, which have been pouring in over this time - it is abundantly clear that she was loved and adored by everyone whose lives she touched, both professionally and personally.
We are in the process of collating all these hundreds of tributes, which we’ll make into a lovely framed collage to be displayed on her memorial page on the FIT website, so thank you all so very much, on behalf of Team FIT and Maggie’s husband Steve, for all your love and support at this unbearably difficult time.
Mags was a staunch supporter of the underdog and those less fortunate than herself and tirelessly devoted any spare time she had to fundraising for many different charities, including Cancer Research, Bike Tours for The Wounded CIC and the National Association of Blood Bikes (where she was part of the volunteer team taking emergency calls and then sending Steve out on the bike to deliver urgent blood supplies to local hospitals) to name just a few.
One of her proudest, although most challenging fundraising events, was when she slept rough for the night in Birmingham, to support the plight of the homeless, in partnership with one of our lovely clients Dan, who was raising money to buy much needed supplies for the homeless, through his ‘Lets Feed Brum’ charity.
Mags chalked this experience up as being one of the most terrifying, humbling, yet inspirational things she’d ever taken part in – and she raised hundreds of pounds that cold, wet miserable night on the streets of Brum, which was a testament to her will of steel and her unending support of those in need.
So how FIT-TING that we should now repay her the favour and show our support by donating to her most treasured charity of all, Cancer Research UK.
Cancer may have taken her from us far too quickly and much too soon, but it will never ever take away the memory we have of her, which will live on in Team FIT forever, as we prepare for a new day, helping our clients become, as Mags would say, FAN-TASTIC!
I hope you all find comfort, knowing how very fortunate you were to have been blessed by her presence and hope you too can treasure the memories you have of her, so that you ensure YOU stay FAN-TASTIC too!
R.I.P
Elsie💔
