In 1992, my family received the most awful news a family could. My younger sister, Ellen, had been killed in a car accident. There are no words to explain the devastation that hit our family and there was no help or support around that was of any help.

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals both when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, and when a child is facing bereavement. This is support that just wasn't there when we needed it and I know would have made an enormous difference to our lives had it have been.

Child Bereavement UK have given me the opportunity to take part in London Marathon, which I am very excited about! I was originally due to take part in 2020, the 40th edition of the London Marathon, and the year I turned 40. Unfortunately the pandemic put a stop to that, and I opted to defer my place to 2022, the year Ellen would have turned 40.
