Tough Mudder London West 2015 · 2 May 2015 to 3 May 2015 ·

We fund research into potential treatments and cures for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a devastating genetic muscle-wasting disease that leads to paralysis, heart and lung failure and early death for all sufferers. We get involved to make a difference for all Duchenne sufferers. Help us find a cure.

Story

We are doing a stupid thing for a great cause.

A Tough Mudder is a 18-20km course through the mud with 20-25 obstacles along the way.  The obstacles start with Arctic Enema to warm you up: a slide into a 20m ice bath. They include monkey bars (like anyone older than 10 can really do them), leaps from great heights, crawling through tubes, log carrying and climbing over high walls.

We thought that the highlight would be getting electrocuted along the way. But, no, new for 2015 the Tough Mudder has added tear gas to its list of obstacles.

If you want a laugh at our expense, look here: https://toughmudder.co.uk/obstacles.

We have been training hard for months, and now the fear has set in. Please help us get around by donating to a really great and important cause.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive and fatal muscle-wasting disease that currently has a 100% fatality rate. It almost exclusively affects boys, causing them to be wheelchair bound by their teens and fighting for their lives in their early twenties.

Our friends' son has DMD and they set up the Duchenne Research Fund (http://duchenne.org.uk/about-drf) in 2007 to find a cure. With concerted effort, research is moving in the right direction and we want to support these efforts so that a cure really can be found.

Please donate generously.
