St Andrew's Hymnathon · 12 October 2012 to 13 October 2012 ·

The church community at St Andrew's Leytonstone seeks to be a beacon of God’s love by actions as much as by words to all people irrespective of their faiths and beliefs. In addition to various events held at St Andrew's, many members are also involved in other volunteer work in the community.

Story

Hello! I am singing hymns (hopefully 3 hours on Fri 12 Oct) to raise money for St Andrew's Leytonstone to repair their bellows. So I guess you could say I'm an organ donor, ho ho.

There will be a Hymnathon, starting at 12pm on 12 Oct, singing every hymn in the New English Hymnal, lasting about 30 hours. Wow. The church itself is an Art and Crafts church, and the instrument is a Lewis organ. More info here: http://www.standrewsleytonstone.org/events/hymnathon/

I know this isn't my usual kind of thing but I very much enjoy singing, and as I know the organist and can see what a huge effort she's put into this event, I wanted to do my part.

If you are able to help, then do mention your favourite hymn in the comments. At the end, the hymn with the most money on it will be sung as a finalé!

I would be very grateful for any donations you feel able to make.  Many thanks.
