Great Manchester Run 10k 2022 · 22 May 2022 ·
I don't think it's much of a secret to anyone that knows me that I'm a bit of a stranger any form of a healthy lifestyle and that the most exercise I usually do is to and from the bar in the pub. However, 10 months ago I started working for a wonderful charity called Wood Street Mission that supports families suffering from poverty in Manchester and Salford. I enthusiastically (and, on reflection, maybe ridiculously) decided to run the Great Manchester Run to raise money for them in May.
Currently there are almost 65,000 children living in poverty across Manchester and Salford and with the cost of living constantly increasing, things are only set to get worse. Wood Street plays a vital role in providing practical help for families and improving children’s life chances. Being part of the team at Wood Street, I see the impact the support has on our families first hand and it would mean so much to be able to contribute more.
At the time the Great Manchester Run seemed like an incredibly achievable goal however, now it's only a week away and it feels like an almost impossible task. I'm very determined to cross that finish line so any donations to make this very stressful and unpleasant activity (no offence seasoned runners) worthwhile would be so greatly appreciated to help even more families struggling day to day.
Thanks for reading and hopefully supporting!
Lots of love, Flo xxx
