I'm challenging myself to lose 4 stone in 12 weeks (starting 9th February 2015 and my final weigh-in on the 15th May 2015) to raise money for Creating Better Futures (CBF). Creating Better Futures is run by volunteers, so the money you raise will go a long way to support the children that we help. For example £5 could feed 5 children at school for 1 month; £10 could buy 1child's school uniform and books; £30 could pay 1child's school fees for 1 year.
Not only will raising money for Creating Better Futures help motivate me personally but to know it is for a good cause will give me no excuse to fail.Every year most people gain weight over the holiday season and retain at least one of those holiday pounds. Over the course of 10 years, this means at least 10 pounds of holiday weight, adding to the usual lifetime weight gain of nearly 20%.
This gradual weight gain is not harmless. Studies show that people who gain weight as they age have a greater risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer.
This year, I have decided to reverse this trend. This year, I have resolved to reduce your weight over several holiday seasons.
We often make pacts with ourselves that we don’t achieve. Think of all those New Year’s resolutions! This holiday season I want to get a jump start on a healthier new year. “Floyd's 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge” increases my chances of success because:
I have set a SMART goal (specific, measurable, achievable, reasonable, and timed): “I will reduce my current weight over the 12 weeks.”
I have Contracted with the everyone who sponsors me to lose 4 stones in weight and also committed to raise at least £400 for the children’s charity Creating Better Futures
I am getting feedback on my progress via Official Weigh-ins kindly supervised and witnessed by Nathan Evans
I have the support of co-workers, family, and friends
I have developed a supportive environment for healthy eating and activity
“Floyd's 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge” will give me the opportunity and tools to use proven weight control practices that will guarantee a happy, healthy, and leaner Floyd.
