Story

Friends of Chernobyl's Children Moray is a new charity run by local families (Scottish Charity No. SC045530) set up to support children affected by the Chernobyl disaster by providing a "month of love and care" in Moray each year.

Our first group of 16 children from Belarus will be coming to Moray in September 2015. These children will benefit from relief from the harmful effects of the radiation absorbed through their food, drink and the air around them as a result of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Everyone involved in our charity is a volunteer and every penny we raise locally goes towards the cost of supporting our children and their trip to Moray each year.

We are affiliated with
Friends of Chernobyl’s Children (UK), which operates throughout the UK and in Belarus.

About the charity

To relieve the suffering of children affected by the radiation explosion from the Nuclear Plant at Chernobyl. To provide family placements for children/orphans, from the Mogilev and Gomel regions of Belarus, for at least one month each year and to meet the full costs of these visits, which will include optical, dental and health checks, and lots of tender loving care.
