Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am extremely grateful to everyone who has helped to support RoadPeace and their work. As some of you have donated anonymously, I can't thank you personally, but your support is hugely appreciated.
UPDATE -
On 8th September I pulled into Munich, completing a slightly unorthodox cycling trip that took in six countries and more than 2,500 miles during a global pandemic.
My original intention was to cycle from Portugal to Romania over two months. As part of this challenge , I was fundraising for RoadPeace in memory of my friends Christian and Niggy Townend who were killed on their bikes in 2010. The trip is entirely self-funded and self supported.
I set off on my adventure in early March, and completed an excellent 1,000 or so km across north west Portugal and northern Spain. But as the corornavirus pandemic gained momentum, my trip came to an abrupt halt.
Fortunately I found a fantastic place to stay in Cantabria as the country went into lockdown. I was there for over four months, working on natural building projects, producing organic food and exploring the Cantabrian mountains.
I set off again in late July, cycling east across Spain, France, Switzerland, Austria and into Germany.

Ride safe all,

THE STORY (as it was imagined at the start...)
This spring I'm cycling more than 2,500 miles across Europe. The trip began on 3rd March on the Atlantic coast in Porto and will conclude seven weeks and several countries later at the Black Sea in Romania.
As part of this challenge , I am fundraising for RoadPeace in memory of my friends Christian and Niggy Townend who were killed on their bikes in 2010.
In honour of Christian and Niggy, every year we organise the Team Townend Challenge, a cycling sportive held in the Lake District. Over the last decade we have raised more than £70,000 for RoadPeace, the national charity for road crash victims in the UK.
For the tenth Team Townend Challenge this year, we hope to reach £100,000. All sponsorship received for my ride will contribute towards this fundraising goal.
I'm not bad on the bike but this is by far the longest and most arduous trip I've ever taken on two wheels. Any support will be gratefully received and give me a kick up my sore bum to keep going.
I'll post updates on Instagram (@HarrySheph) using #FollowtheShepherd and at followtheshepherd.uk
For anyone interested in joining this year's Team Townend Challenge, head to teamtownend.org
A bientot,
Harry
