Story
I first encountered The Nightingale Centre in the spring of 2014 after discovering a lump. A scan, a biopsy and a blood test later I got the all clear, luckily just some inflamed glands which eventually disappeared.
Since then I’ve been so grateful for the consistent reassurance and support The Nightingale Centre gave me during the tests that I’d really like to give something back, particularly for those who are not as lucky as I was.
I came up with the idea ‘food4boobs’ as a bit of a joke really after noticing that all my favourite foods are shaped like a pair of breasts (muffins, poached eggs, stuffed mushrooms, avocado). Being a keen cook, I get a lot of joy from cooking for others and coming up with new recipes and adaptations of recipes that I love. I am a firm believer in food as therapy and I hope that this campaign can inspire cooking and healthy eating whilst raising a bit of well deserved dosh for Genesis! The funds raised will go towards the all important Diet and Lifestyle research pillar of Genesis who have already proven that a good diet is a key aspect in helping to prevent breast cancer.
