Foodbank 400 · 7 October 2022

No one in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are in crisis. We're part of a network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Story

This winter people are facing a huge rise in their bills.  For many struggling families this may tip them into crisis, leaving them worrying about paying their bills or feeding their family.

The government has announced help by giving all households a rebate of £400 towards the additional costs expected.  You may already have noticed this credit in bills you have just received.

However some people don't need the help, they have resources they can fall back on, and they'd rather the help went to people facing that bills vs food dilemma instead.

If you are one of those people, then FOODBANK 400 is a way to donate some or all of your rebate to support those who are anxious about where their next meal will come from.

The foodbank helped over 3,000 people last year and this winter the demand is inevitably going to grow.  Your donation will help support the growing number of people in crisis.

Whatever you can give it will help people facing the most challenging circumstances this winter.

And if you prefer to give to some other charity that is supporting people in need, that is just as good and also greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Cllr Mark Roberts, Mayor of Amersham
