Captain Tom 100 challenge · 30 April 2021

The pandemic has affected our charity and the families who rely on us very badly. We have had to close our doors for the best part of a year now and fundraising events have been cancelled. We are relying on the kindness of our supporters to help us.

Story

On 6 April 2020, Captain Tom Moore set out round his garden to thank our NHS heroes. One hundred laps later, he’d raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal.

His simple message of hope – “Tomorrow will be a good day” – inspired millions around the world and brought comfort and joy to so many during the pandemic.

Now it’s your turn to build on that legacy. Friday 30 April would have been his 101st birthday and to honour him and his amazing achievements, The Captain Tom Foundation would love everyone, of all ages and abilities, to take part in the Captain Tom 100.

Footprints would like 100 people to take part in a baton relay across Nottingham (the baton will be something special!). Wear fancy dress, hop skip run or cycle, decorate your car, walk backwards - anything! We will end with a ribbon finish at Footprints.

£10 entry fee to 100 lucky households who get a place and we also ask you encourage your friends and family to sponsor your part in this epic relay! We're hoping for some surprise guests along the way and maybe even a mention in the local (or national!) news.

Whilst raising money for Footprints we hope to raise awareness and create some of that community spirit we all saw in 2020. It will be a fun family event and we hope we get 100 households and lots of sponsors!

Share your part on the route on social media with #CaptainTom100 and #FootprintsCEC and lots of photos and videos.
