Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.
Oliver was born in January 2011. He was nearly 12 weeks early and weighed 2lbs 12 when he was born. As time went on we started to realise that he wasn't able to do things other children do and wasn't reaching his milestones.
In April 2012 Oliver was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy with complications in his upper limbs. Our world fell apart when the consultant told us he may never walk. At that time Oliver couldn't do anything, he would just lie on the floor watching the world go by around him. Now at the age of 2 and a half he is a happy little boy who can sit up on his own (although he may be a bit wobbly), crawl on all fours and has started to pull himself upto standing. He loves to swim but all he really wants to do is join in with his sister and friends and play on a scooter, ride a bike and run around.
Please help us to raise money for a life changing operation that will help him to walk. The operation that is available is called SDR - Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. We need to raise the money for the operation, intensive physiotherapy both post and pre op and a specialised trike that strengthens his legs to prepare him for the operation. We also need to fundraiser for a self propelling wheelchair to give him independence even if he's not using his sticks or walker.
Please help us to give Oliver the chance to play on a scooter alongside his big sister.
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
