London Bridges Challenge 2017 · 1 October 2017 ·

On Sunday 1 October, conquer 12 iconic London Bridges. Take on this 10 mile challenge and get sponsored for every step of the way to help us reach a future where diabetes can do no harm.

Story

Two years ago our amazing son ,  grandson , nephew  Godson and friend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Never  in a million years  did I expect this condition to come knocking at our door but  Sadly it did and turned our world upside down .  Arlo has to inject himself with insulin , has to monitor his blood sugar levels  every single day and count every carb on every bit of food and drink that he consumes ! Without any of these interventions he could end up seriously unwell or die.

As parents we can take a day off from the needles, testing and counting but for Arlo it is a 365 days of the year condition that cannot be ignored.

Every day he inspires us all with his bravery

Everyday he makes us laugh and smile  with his cheekiness .

Everyday he makes us proud.

We hope in the future that as Arlo grows up there will finally be a cure for this horrid condition .

That's why we are doing this challenge to raise money   as Arlo says " So the scientists can find a cure."

Arlo's buddies, family and special friends are coming together to walk 10 miles from West to East London along Londons iconic bridges .

This is our page please sponsor us so we can help the  scientists find a cure .

Many thanks
