Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

For Kate, my daughter who was so much loved, and for all the other young people who have lost their lives to an eating disorder, please support me by raising funds for B-eat to help prevent others from succumbing to this terrible illness.

Kate went to Paris on a Valentine’s trip in 2007 and had a great time, so it’s fitting to raise funds by cycling the 300 miles (in 4 days) from London to Paris. Those who knew Kate would know that she thought walking once to the bus stop was enough exercise for a week, but she embraced life in any sparkling way. She declared ‘every day is a tiara day’. In Paris she wore her Karen Millen evening gown on the Metro. You could depend on Kate for anything and everything outrageous. She was both beautiful and clever and loved to hold an audience, which she did many times as she was a talented actress and performed in many productions. She also had a strong sense of justice and always wanted to help those who suffered. She herself raised £2000 to go to Africa to work in an orphanage.

So please help B-eat to help others overcome their eating disorders and support me on the London to Paris cycle ride. I know how many of you miss her, or your own lost friends, daughters, sons, so spread the word and help me make my target…… and thank you.
