Story

The Three Peaks Challenge was successfully completed on Sunday 2nd Aug. It took us 28 1/2 hrs in total, but we got there in the end.

I will upload some photos soon....for the none belivers :-) I will also update the sponsorship total, once all forms are back.

We would like to say a REALLY big Thank You, to everybody who sponsored us and for all the support we received. The money raised will now help other families who are going through difficult times, and there is no better feeling than that!! Also, a big thank you to our driver, Gary Walker, without who, we would never have made it. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Challenge.

On the 1st August 2015, myself (Dionne Walker), Kath Bolan, Adele Scrimgeour, Barbara Wilson are taking on the 3 peaks challenge. We will walk Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all within 24hrs.

The Charity.

We will be raising money for Willowbrook Hospice in St Helens. The staff at Willowbrook are amazing people (from the kitchen staff to doctors and the many volunteers) who cared for my brother David during the last weeks of his life. They supported us as a family and nothing was ever too much trouble for them.

Our hope is to raise at least £2000 for Willowbrook. Sadly there will always be families in need of their support and they do rely, in part, on donations from us all.

David.

My brother died from cancer at just 36 years of age. He left behind three children and a family who loved him dearly. His two boys and little girl were his world and knowing he wouldnt be there for them, to watch them grow up, was the thing he found hardest.

David was the best brother I ever could have hoped for and will always be the bravest person I have ever known. He was a kind and considerate soul and couragous beyond belief, even during his darkest hours, his concerns were always for those around him.

Having survived cancer in his early 20's, David went on to raise money for numerous charities because thats the type of person he was, he would always try to help others out.

I hope that by completing this challenge, we can say a small thank you to Willowbrook, help others who are struggling and in need and lastly, I hope we will make my brother proud.
