Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday November 22nd 2009 myself and Geoff took part in an event which I have organised for the very first time in The Algarve where I reside. The Forget Me Not Run is in memory of my first Grandchild, Layla, who was stillborn in August 2008, the very much loved and missed, daughter of my daughter, Laura and her Husband, Stuart.

Since then, The Child Bereavement Charity has been instrumental in supporting them by helping them to cope with and manage their loss, and provide them with the understanding and professional support that they so desperately need.

The CBC is a largely voluntary organisation, and relies heavily on fund raising and donations to support the much-needed work and counselling that people like Laura and Stuart, and many more families like them, rely on so much. There are, as we know, countless charities supporting research and equipment for various illnesses, but the CBC is one of the very few that support us when the final outcome is unfavourable.

The Forget Me Not Run took place in the Marina in Vilamoura, Portugal, and consisted of a 5k and 10k circuit.

We had around 40 people supporting us, the weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. Geoff completed the 5k and I completed the 10k and a gin and tonic was waiting for us both at the finish line. Entrance fees, sponsors and raffel tickets raised 800€. A big thank you to all who have supported us.
