In the past 21 years, over 21,000 people with epilepsy have died suddenly and died too young. SUDEP Action’s Prevent21 campaign shines a light on this shocking disaster. With a significant change of attitude, culture, and action towards epilepsy - many lives CAN be saved. Knowledge saves lives.

Story

Martin Morgan loved life and made the most of it!

Martin was diagnosed with epilepsy from a young age. He hadn't had a seizure for 15 years but unfortunately he passed away in July 2015 to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) at the age of 37.

Sadly we didn't know about SUDEP until Martin's passing. Also medical professionals were unaware of this and never discussed the risks with Martin.

By raising awareness to SUDEP we can help other families know the risks through further research, and prevent further deaths in epilepsy.

Don't be like our family and Martin, be aware, be SUDEP savvy and know that there is support and information available on a risk that is not always brought to your attention.
