I'm a Board Member of the Historic Houston Texans YMCA (Houston)​. Did you know the Houston Texans  Y, is the same Y, the first colored Y in Houston opened in1919 on Prairie Avenue. Also known as the South Central YMCA , OUR Y  was a primary factor behind those scenes from the 1960s, providing a common meeting place for community leaders to come together to plan for this peaceful social
revolution in Houston. This is OUR Y and we need your support! OUR Y was home to Quentin R. Mease, Judge Carl Walker, Joshua Hill, Manson Johnson, and other community leaders in Houston. The Houston Texans YMCA, Our Y opened January 3,2011, the only YMCA in the country named for its cities National Football Team.
