Story
I am running in the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon in memory of William Radley and to raise funds and awareness for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
William was born on the 8th May 2011. He died only a few months later on the 29th September 2011. The dedication shown by the NICU was nothing short of remarkable and truly inspirational by providing William with enough care and treatment to, against all odds, be transferred to Southampton General Hospital to under-go heart surgery in order to prolong his life even further.
William was born into one of the greatest and closest family's that I have the pleasure of knowing. They have shown me and my family unparalleled love and care through some tragic times. We have all remained close friends throughout the past 27 years and this is my way of saying thank you to all of the Sprakes and Radley family.
As some of you may know, I was training for the 2013 Virgin London Marathon but suffered an injury causing me to pull out. Starting my training with more than 14 weeks (and less stress fractures) will see me through.
Any money that you donate will help the NICU in their continued efforts to care and support new born babies like William.
Thank you.
Charlie
