Story
I am now the 4th generation of my family with Type 2 Diabetes. I found out the morning after I DNF'd the Chicago Marathon in 2016. Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth.
I set a goal to run the 2018 Chicago Marathon with Team Diabetes, to raise $5,000 to help the American Diabetes Association and get myself some #redemption. This was to be my sixth marathon, and fifth Chicago Marathon. I have had to end my marathoner days as my knee will not take the pounding. I have to stop before I destroy it.
I have worked hard to be down 45 lbs. I will focus on losing another 45 lbs! I am going to take care of my knee and get healthier.
Together we are on a quest to Stop Diabetes! We cannot reach our goal without your help. Please make a donation by selecting the "Donate Now" button. Your support will take us one step closer to a cure.
Every day 4,110 people are diagnosed with diabetes. That means they're much more likely to go blind. To die of a heart attack. To lose a limb. Now is your chance to help. With your support today, we can continue to fight back.
Help us make a difference for over 30 million Americans affected by diabetes!
No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of the over 30 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and another 84 million people at risk. The American Diabetes Association continues to provide information, research and advocacy for the all Americans affected by diabetes. Together, we can all make a difference in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease.
Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause that is so important to me and the fight to Stop Diabetes!
