Freshfields Animal Rescue puts your values into practice. We believe all animals are of equal worth, and no healthy animal is ever destroyed. We rescue, rehome or release 2,000 cats, dogs, horses, farmed animals and local wildlife each year and work to prevent the problems. # No Animal Left Behind

Story

Right, this is the big one. I've conquered my fear of heights by abseiling down the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral to raise funds for the fox unit and did a free fall from 10,000ft to raise money for new Shoreline cages for the foxes. Now I'm tackling my scariest challenge to date - getting off my backside and taking part in some physical exercise. Having never taken part in a marathon in my life this is a quite daunting and it will require a fair bit of training on my part to get in shape.

I've set the target high, as it's an expensive and valuable target we are aiming for - a brand new on-site vet room at Freshfields Animal Rescue where I am based. Having been set up since the 70's and relatively recently started taking in foxes in December 2013 this will be the first time we've had a vet on site daily, as our current set up allows us a vet on site only once or twice per week during intermittent visits.

Not only will having a vet room on site result in easier/quicker access to a vet for emergencies and regular check ups, resulting in less stress to the foxes, it will also save us a lot of money in the long run. It would also be a big boost for the rescue in general, not just for the fox unit. We take in a wide variety of animals from hedgehogs and garden birds to cats and dogs as well as farm animals like pigs and sheep. This room would benefit all of these animals.

The £10,000 I'm raising the money for will be being going towards building costs of the room itself, the equipment for the room, and also go towards the running costs. Please show you support for this project which will be a massive asset to the foxes and the other animals here, wild and domestic.
