WellChild is the national charity for sick children. We provide essential practical and emotional support for seriously ill children, young people and those who care for them across the UK to ensure they receive the best possible quality of care.

Story

I will start this off by saying that one of my mottos has always been, "Running is for criminals!". Hmmm...

So i stupidly agreed to run the Toronto Marathon on a back of a drunken night in Barcelona late last year when Mark Brosnan called me a chicken. No-one-calls-me-chicken! I guess the only good to come out of that night and my real consolation the next morning was that I knew I had a great chance to help some seriously ill children through WellChild.

This is my first full marathon so wish me luck! Other particiants are my work colleagues, Mark Brosnan, Phil Nicholls and Andrew Pantling. Why Toronto? a common question i keep getting, well its APs hometown so he has an advantage in the stakes, which i hope will be reflected in the soon to be announced pricing of our internal race to the finish. I will do whatever it takes to finish, which immediately means Cian loses €200, which those who work around Matchbook would agree is great! We'll get that donated here.

Rest assured i did my full research on my chosen charity, which had to be a children's charity. WellChild is extremely well run with some big ambassadors behind them such as Prince Harry (charity Patron), Duncan Bannytyne and Karen Brady and their work is not just limited to research into illnesses but offers great support to childrens practical and emotional support to be able to live their lives to the full.

Much appreciated guys and thanks again for the support!

Farzad.
