I'm fundraising for International Service, a charity working in developing countries in Latin America, West Africa, and the Middle East. International Service has a rights based approach to development. This means they aim to improve the lives of marginalised groups such as women, girls and people with disabilities by empowering and supporting their human rights. They assist local partner organisations in pursuing this and much of their work is carried out by volunteers, from the UK and the countries they operate in. In April I will be going to Ghana to volunteer on one of their projects for 12 weeks.
