Kiltwalking for MYPAS

Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2023 · 17 September 2023 ·
Can you spare £21 for a 21 miles?!* (see math below).
For someone who gets out of breath running for a bus and who is generally averse to exercise, committing to walking 21 miles is a huge undertaking! This is how much MYPAS means to me.
For the last 2 years I have been constantly in awe of the support my colleagues give to children and young people across Midlothian and East Lothian, whether this is through counselling, art therapy, drug and alcohol support or through our LGBT+ service. On a daily basis I see the life changing work happening for those who need it. This is a chance for me to give back.
Over the last few years we have been very successful in securing funds to run these services. Some of these funds are short term or are becoming increasingly competitive to secure and our waiting lists are consistently growing. It is vital that all who need the support of MYPAS can access our services quickly after they have made the choice to seek help. It is vital that parents and carers who are worried about their children can seek help and support at the right time. Fundraising is the main means by which MYPAS can increase services, reaching more and more young people who need support, when they need support.
I am walking this (as running is beyond a sedentary potato like me) with the intention of reaching a personal goal that I’ve been avoiding - to increase my fitness levels and start looking after my own wellbeing.
I hope you’ll join me in supporting MYPAS. Now…I’d better start training…
*math = every £21 donation pledged provides a session for a child or young person in need. Donate more to support more sessions
Every donation made is topped up by the Hunter Foundation by 50% plus Gift Aid. This means that every £21 donation given turns into £36.75 for MYPAS.
