• Promotion of local research activity  by funding/part-funding projects and by enabling us to retain experienced researchers who have a gap in their funding.
  
• Promotion of service developments by funding/part-funding posts/initiatives which cannot be supported by the NHS unless their cost-effectiveness is proven.
• Providing information to our local patients about musculoskeletal and inflammatory disorders through newsletters and roadshows.
