40,000 Metres in 40 Days · 20 April 2022

Brainwave is a charity that helps children with disabilities to achieve greater independence. Aiming to improve mobility, communication skills, and learning potential, through a range of specialist therapies.

Story

I have decided to swim 40 lengths for 40 days (a total of 40,000 metres) to raise money for Brainwave children’s charity; a charity we are championing at NSS this year.

Brainwave exists to help children with disabilities achieve greater independence by aiming to improve their mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of specialist therapies. The children supported by Brainwave have a range of conditions including: autism, cerebral palsy and genetic disorders such as Down’s Syndrome.

This will be no mean feat for me personally; I have only recently started swimming fairly regularly but I am excited for the challenge. Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated!
