With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

Nearly a year ago my lovely friend Sara was diagnosed with my myeloma, a really horrible form of blood cancer.  I have been completely humbled by how she has dealt with this terrible diagnosis, endless treatments, procedures, medication and, stem cell transplant. She is quite simply bloody heroic.

I’ll be taking on my first half-marathon on Sara’s behalf to raise money for her nominated charity - Cure Leukaemia.  This Birmingham based charity has funded and trained brilliant specialist nurses to work across the region and in the unit where she is receiving treatment.  Nurses like Brooke, who herself was fighting for her own life at 17 and is now a, thanks to the charity, a haematology nurse.

Any donations, however small, are going to a really worthwhile cause.
