Climbing mount snowdon · 22 August 2017

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

My family,  Owen and Corey Porter, Fiance Marcus warren and olly workman( my sons best friend, aged 11) are climbing Mount Snowdon for the second time, my boys were only 8 and 10 when they first climbed mount Snowdon to the top and back down in exactly 6 hours.

This time we  want to do it for charity and for a good cause. Sue Ryder have been amazing helping a family friend I have that has a life long illness called Huntingtons disease and we feel we owe some of it back to Leckhampton hospice for all their great help, they truly are amazing up there.

We were going to climb Mount Snowdon again anyway, but really feel that this time we can raise money with your help.

Our boys are now 9 & 11, Corey's the youngest and Owen being the eldest.

The last time we climbed the mountain my youngest had a heart condition called patent ductus arteriosis, which Birmingham hospital closed his hole that was leaking blood into his lungs in January this year, so Corey more than anything is determined to get back up there and challenge himself in a healthier condition.

My oldest son also suffers with knee and leg problems which can restrict him from doing activities at times, he has sindig larssen johannson where his bones grow quicker than his muscles and can cause severe pain at times, so he will be strapped up with knee supports and plenty of physio before climbing the mountain.

My partner Marcus will also be in on the challenge.

Olly has been half way up before with his family and also determined to make it to the top this time.

We aim to try and beat our time of 6 hours last time, I guess that is our challenge.

We will be climbing the mountain in between the 21st and 24th of August 2017

Please support us and all money will go to Sue Ryder  Leckhampton court hospice x
