For those of you who don't know, we are currently in the process of planning our third  fundraising ball, to be held on Saturday 28^th November at Oakwood House, Maidstone in aid of the Heart of Kent Hospice.

The Heart of Kent Hospice provides specialist care and support to patients, and their families, who are affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.  This care is provided through its Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy, Community Nursing Team and Family Support to approximately 1000 patients and their families each year.

Care at the Hospice is free to those who need it.  However, with annual running costs of over £4 million each year, only 29% of which is received through statutory funding, the Hospice is heavily dependent on the generosity of the local community.

Sadly in the last few years we have both experienced first-hand the excellent care provided by the wonderful hospice team to both patients and their families when loved ones spent their last few days there.  It is for this reason that we have chosen to organise the fundraising ball, and would kindly ask you to consider making a donation towards our final fundraising total.  From the events that we have held over the last two years we have been successful enough to raise a total of £5,300.00 and are hoping that our final event this year will see us reach our total goal of £10,000.00.
