In February this year Yanique 21, was preparing for her mothers birthday celebrations.   Jayne, team member of Iceland Brentwood  was turning 50.   Yanique had arranged a meal and theatre show tickets, which she knew her mum would enjoy.  She carefully chose a birthday card, one which best expressed her love for her mum.  Jayne's night out to celebrate with her work colleagues proved an eventful evening!!

Just a few weeks later came the unbelievable news that Yanique had breast cancer.  The decision was made to undergo chemotherapy.  This has left Yanique s immune system very low so even the common cold she caught left her feeling lethargic and vunerable.  She is always pleased to see friends and family and her mums homemade lasagne perks her up a treat. There's nothing quite like mums home cooking!!

We at Iceland Brentwood wanted to do something positive. To give support to cancer research we agreed that we would  take part in the Race For Life. A few of us are taking part in the race itself, others are collecting donations and volunteering  to help keep us hydrated on  the race day. . Our local Cancer Research shop on our high street is helping us with t shirts and fitness first have given us free gym passes. Family of staff have made us our very own banner too!

Yanique hopes to join us on the day too!
