Story
My Family and Friends are raising money for Cancer Research in memory of my Dad, Alan.
Dad was an absolutely unforgettable character who worked hard and played harder - he had a hugely full life, with many friends and even more memories.
He found out he had breast cancer a few years ago, as part of a scan for a heart operation. Since then he found out he had the Braca 2 gene, a genetic anomaly which means a significantly higher chance of lifetime cancer for those who have it. He had treatment and recovered from breast cancer just as the world went into lockdown, and had a successful heart operation in October 2020. Unfortunately, on his birthday (May 13th) in 2021 he found out he had terminal pancreatic cancer, and due to complications related to this diagnosis, he passed away on the 5th of June 2021.
Since he passed away, all fund raising has been done on this page and we start the latest round for the Hackney Half at £8073!
We know that Dad was a huge advocate of the work that Cancer Research do, and would like anyone who wishes to, to donate in his memory. xx
