At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am a researcher and former research fellow of the Alzheimer's Society, currently working as a lecturer, at the University of Reading. I focus on the electrical alterations in the brain of people with Alzheimer's disease.

Being funded by the Alzheimer's Society, as a Junior Fellow, was the turning point of my scientific career. Not only because it favoured my career progression into a faculty position; but also because, thanks to the constant interaction with the network volunteers, it enabled me to acquire a better perspective on how I could make my research more relevant for people with dementia, their families and carers. It thought me how I could work differently, to have more impact.

When I don't research, I cycle. This time, I will do it for 100 miles in London: help me raise funds!
