Story

Hi my name is Francine and I've got a little Angel Son called Michael Thomas John Godden born on 23rd November 2010 . I want to tell you my life changing story........

In March 2010  I found out I was pregnant and was over the moon, everything was perfect as I watched him grow. My first scan was touching as my partner Andy and I saw our little boy for the first time.  Michael was upside down and the nurses were saying jump up and down but he wouldnt move so the nurse said come back tomorrow everything is fine just need to check how big and he doing ok, so I went back the next morning they said 'oh look its the naughty baby back' thankfully everything was ok.  We couldnt wait for the next scan to find out if a boy or girl, we counted the days everyone was telling me I was having a boy not one person said it was a girl!  It was the scan day we were so exited as soon as we got in the room I said is it a boy or girl ? You're having a lovely healthy little boy; we were over the moon . We went home and thought of some names and came up with Michael after my Brother who had sadly died. I started buying baby boy clothes, toys, all we needed and everything was just perfect. .

Then the night of 21st November I was in bed and thought to myself I haven't felt him move but thought it was just one of those days assuming he was asleep. The next morning I new there was something wrong so Andy took me to hospital and into the scan room and all I kept asking was is he ok is he ok ....... no answer they kept swaping scaners .... no answer .... is he ok talk to me ...... no answer. Then I had to go in a special room and use the bigger scaner is he ok I repeatedly asked?

Am so sorry ......................

I looked at Andy my heart rate started to rise I screamed I cried, the pain was unbearable.

Whats going to happen now?  So many questions going round in my head.  I was moved to the labour ward to be induced.  On 23rd November I gave birth to a special little Angel called Michael Thomas John Godden who was born sleeping.

I've since had the support of Surrey Sands the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity and met many other parents who live with this intense grief that is so misunderstood. The group is run by volunteers who are also bereaved parents. I am now doing fundraising to support the charity in memory of Michael.

One of the things I shall be doing is taking part in a 5km fun run and Sands family day in September and ask if you would kindly sponsor me to thank Sands for their support through this horrendous nightmare.

Thank you.
