Story

I am running the Edinburgh Marathon 10k for Alzheimer Scotland to help them ensure that nobody faces dementia alone!

Both of my parents passed away from dementia and this organisation holds a special place in my heart. I have seen first hand the positive impact which this organisation has for those that need additional care and support.

Any donation, of any size, would be massively appreciated and I would like to thank you for your support!

Estimates put the number of people living with dementia in Scotland at over 90,000 and it is predicted that this number will continue to significantly increase in the coming years. Sadly, there is no current cure for dementia and only a few forms of drug treatments are available, that is why Alzheimer Scotland aim to provide as much support as possible to people living with dementia, and their families and carers. Alzheimer Scotland offers care, information and support to people with dementia and carers in Scotland. Their services include a 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline (0808 808 3000), Dementia Advisors, Dementia Nurses and medical research.
