Story

Motor Neuron Disease (MND) affects up to 5000 people in the UK. It is a limiting, degenerative disease that has no cure. People affected with MND display a variety of symptoms, mainly affected the brain and nerves, causing progressive weakness.

We are all truly advocates of charities like MND Scotland and the tremendous positive impact that they have on patients' lifes, their families and communities. As researchers at the University of Dundee, local GP and our families,  our admiration of their work comes from the fact that we can see their continuous efforts in action.  Our team spans various generations and locations, including one of the northest points in mainland UK (John o' Groats), the sunniest city in Scotland (Dundee), the famous fruit growing Carse of Gowrie (Errol), the hometown to The Beatles (Liverpool) and across the channel to a door to the Mediterranean sea, the iconic Spanish city, Barcelona.

The team consists of (and their age, location and distance to cover):

Starting at John O’Groats: Andrew Webster (58), 5km. Claire Helliwell (34), 10km.

Inverness: Sean Henstridge (36), 5 km. Faye Henstridge (36), 5km. Ellie (2) and Ayla Henstridge (6), 0.5km.

Dundee: Fran Inesta (39), 21 Km. Virginia Hernandez (38), 5 km. Rodrigo (7) and Alberto (5) Inesta, 0.5 Km.

Errol: Chris Henstridge (37), 5 Km. Ashley Henstridge (34), 3 Km alongside Ivy Henstridge (1 year old!) in a pushchair.

Liverpool: Nicole Hindley + her mum! (5km each)

Barcelona: Anna Sanchez Avilla + her mum!

We hope that you can join us in supporting MND activities

The team.
