Supporting the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund
The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund is aiming to raise 2.5 million pounds through a number of different projects and I want to contribute a bit to their fund.
I love to knit and decided to donate my latest project, the Girasole circular throw, designed by the wonderful Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed, to raise money to help the people of Japan.
It has taken me over 100 hours to knit this throw over the course of the last month using Hand Dyed Reclaimed Yarn which I purchased from Play at Life Fiber Arts.
The colour of the yarn is called "Twilight Fades to Night" in tones of deep blue, purple and orange. It is made from 55% Lambswool, 20% Nylon, 17% Rayon, 4% Angora and 4% Cashmere and feels soft and lovely. I have photographed it in the sunshine, so you can see the truly gorgeous colours and the lacy pattern.
This would make a lovely bedspread, sofa throw or picnic blanket.
I could not decide whether to auction or raffle the throw, so I have decided to do a combination of both; to support my charity effort please make a donation upto (and including) £20.00. If you would genuinely like to own the throw then please donate more than £20.00 and I will enter those names into a raffle to be drawn on May 31st at 6pm GMT.
Don not panic if you are not based in the UK - I will send the winner the throw!
Please forward the link to my JustGiving page to as many people as possible and together we can do our bit to help the people of Japan.
Thank you
