We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

After on-going misdiagnosis, 10 years ago, in February 2007, I was found unconscious. I survived thanks to emergency surgery to remove a very large grade 1 brain tumour and have made a fairly good recovery. However, the majority of brain tumour patients are not so lucky and still too very few of us survive.

On 30th September, I will take part in the 11 mile Grand Union Canal walk to raise awareness and very needed funds to support the network of dedicated research centres to get closure to a cure.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this disease. We are the only national charity in the UK funding sustainable and continuous research into brain tumours.
