Today, 13th of August, is OVERSHOOT DAY. For those of you that know what this is, this page might just be what you were looking for. For those that don't know the meaning, I strongly recommend to look it up, pause, and seriously start thinking about it. Then come back on this page, I need you. Actually, YOU need yourself.

The increased frequency of natural disasters linked to global warming and the rise of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is a reality that can no longer be ignored. Not enough is being done to sensitise people and encourage them to pay more attention in daily life to protecting OUR planet. Much could be achieved by doing the simplest of things from our daily schedule which could have a global positive influence.

In case of the Earth becoming no longer viable for sustaining life, we have to bear in mind that the closest almost-habitable planet is 1,400 light years (only 8,230,075,757,747,774 earthly miles). Which brings us to the fact that we have to protect and nurture what we have.

Forests around the world are depleted by millions of hectares every year (13 million hectares on average), threatening the lives of several thousands of plant and animal species (rhinoceros, gorilla, panda and tiger, to name a few), and causing problems that are almost daily described in the media .

For these reasons, my intention is to start a campaign that will lead to the raising of funds for one of the largest organizations working to help local population and communities to protect forests around the world: Rainforest Foundation UK, currently active in Africa and South America. In support of the cause, I will WALK the 1300km that separate the extremes of the South Island of New Zealand, on the Te Araroa trail. The journey will start in mid-October and would be completed in around two months.

What I ask is then to notice the presence of the elephant in the room, and acknowledge the fact that it can no longer be ignored, especially considering that our children and grandchildren will be paying more and more consequences. SPREADING THE WORD to friends, relatives and colleagues, is the key to achieving a difficult but not impossible goal.

The coverage of my journey that I intend to document through social platforms will certainly include the support I will receive from large companies, both in terms of donations to the foundation and in terms of gear supplied that will help me in the completion of the journey.

L’aumento di frequenza di catastrofi naturali, legate al surriscaldamento globale e l'innalzamento di emissioni di CO2 nell'atmosfera è una realtà che non può essere ignorata oltre. Non
abbastanza si sta facendo per sensibilizzare le persone ad una maggiore attenzione nella vita quotidiana per quanto riguarda la salvaguardia del NOSTRO pianeta.
È vero che nella costellazione del cigno è stato scoperto Kepler-452b, un quasi-gemello della Terra, ma 1400 anni luce non sono ancora considerati per il piano B.
Le foreste di tutto il mondo ogni anno perdono milioni di ettari di estensione (13 milioni di ettari in media), minacciando la vita di diverse migliaia di specie animali e vegetali (rinoceronte, gorilla,
panda, tigre, per citarne alcuni), e causando problemi che quasi
quotidianamente vengono descritti dai media.
La mia intenzione è di iniziare una campagna che porti al raccoglimento di fondi destinati ad una delle più grandi organizzazioni che lavorano per la salvaguardia della foresta amazzonica in Brasile. A sostegno della causa, percorrerò infatti A PIEDI i 1300km che separano gli estremi dell'isola del sud della Nuova Zelanda, lungo il percorso Te Araroa. Partirò a metà ottobre e cercherò di completare il percorso in 2 mesi.
