Story
I was looking through Facebook/Meta 2nd January 2022 and noticed that St Michaels Hospice (who cared for my Husband Dean Massey) are doing a Sky Diving Event....I've been lucky enough to do this when I was 25 and it is something I always said I'd love to do again!!
I then looked at the date the event is taking place and it's the date of my Wedding, even to the day, Dean and I would have been married 11 years on Saturday 28th May 2022.
For this reason I knew that I had to sign up so I spoke to a couple of my best friends who all said it was something I should definitely do, that it was a sign, and a good friend even said....see Dean wants you to throw yourself out of a plane (that did make me laugh)
So I am once again raising money for this wonderful Hospice and I hope that you will be able to support it with me by donating whatever you can on what will be a very hard day for me, my first wedding anniversary without Dean.
Just so you have a brief idea of what the money you donate goes towards.
£5.60 is the cost of printing a special memory book for children who have lost someone at the Hospice
£15 is the average cost of providing 3 meals, drinks, and snacks to a patient per day
£20 is the cost of 1 nurse for 1 hour
As a charity, our care is provided to our patients and their families free of charge. It will cost over £5.5 million to provide these services to the local community with less than 20% funding from the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The remaining funds come from Events, Fundraising, Gifts in Wills, Lottery and Retail activities to support patients and their families affected by life-limiting illness. Next year, Hospice costs will rise - that's a fact. The Fundraising Department of St. Michael's Hospice is constantly amazed and inspired by the generosity of you, our supporters, and find it especially touching how time and again you are able to think of the Hospice with a donation.
