We Team Bliss, non-runners and casual runners alike have decided to take on a relatively steep challenge of taking on the 15k 'tough mudder' challenge for charity. 15k is more than triple the distance that most of us are capable of running; yet we remain steadfast and bold in our pursuit. Despite having less than a month to train for the event, we are resolute. The horror stories we have all seen and heard of the devastation that brain tumours have caused to innocent people will reverberate in our minds as we train and push our limitations to new levels. 39 brave runners who will contribute towards the Brain Tumour Charity and its pursuit to end the savage and relentless pain it causes millions of unfortunate souls. With the advancement of every technology or cure, it requires tiny incremental steps to progress and solve. Those tiny steps in our case will be our efforts to raise awareness and raise money. Every penny we raise will accelerate to an indeterminate degree, the development of a cure for brain tumours. Even if the money we generate today does not lead (and likely will not lead directly to)a cure today, it is the time, money, and research that is spent throughout years, decades, and maybe even centuries of scientific research that will lead to the cure, one day. And that day comes sooner with every penny raised. Therefore, your actions today in donating will have saved millions of potential lives in the future and hopefully some today. Mothers and grandmothers, fathers and grandfathers, daughters and grandaghters, sons and grandsons alike will live long(er) prosperous lives in the future because of your actions today. This phenomenon is called the butterfly effect: a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. So please forgive me for sounding hypothetical, but this is simply a matter of fact. We all have the impact to make change on an unperceivable and unfathomable scale.
