Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates and funds three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This lifesaving service costs £13-14 million each year and is funded by donations only.

Story

I'm not really sure what I've signed up for, except that we're raising money for a great cause, the Midlands Air Ambulance charity.

Here's what the website says:

"Bear’s team of highly trained experts will facilitate learning, offer advice and guide participants through this grueling 24 hour course. Learn to forage, identify animal runs and lay traps, skin and gut, navigate by day and night, build emergency shelters, stalk, protect yourself in the wild from attack, wilderness first aid, tie knots and make rope harnesses in order to safely cross difficult terrain such as rivers, lakes and steep ground by any means. This is not a military boot camp and it’s much, much more than a bush craft course. This is an exclusive course where places are limited to only 16 participants who must be physically fit and active. From hour one you will be led into the wilderness with no tent, water or food. During the course you will receive limited food, and water will need to be sourced locally from streams and pools. You will then have to forage for anything else that may supplement your diet.

Have you got what it takes to survive for 24 hours until rescue?"
