London to Brighton Cycle 2023 · 10 September 2023 ·

Our team of MS Superstar cyclists will take on the London to Brighton Cycle, to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society and to help stop MS. This is their team page.

Story

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, neurodegenerative condition that affects the central nervous system. On average nearly 7,000 people are newly diagnosed per year with the condition and one in every 500 in the UK will have MS.

It's a lifelong condition that affects the brain and spinal cord and can sometimes cause serious disability, although it can occasionally be mild.

Unfortunately, early last year our Dad was diagnosed with MS which was a huge shock to us all. Thankfully the conditions are considerably mild with help from his medications. Although MS isn’t always visible from the outside, it still hampers his day to day life causing fatigue and muscle stiffness, with numbness and tingling in certain areas of the body.

So, we have decided to take on the challenge of running the London Big Half Marathon and cycling from London to Brighton, both in the month of September… only one week apart.

Taking part in these events and raising money will help to generate great awareness around this condition and provide support to this amazing charity who strive to make life easier for those suffering with the condition and their families.

The money raised will go towards continuing the society’s work to reach more people affected by MS, alongside funding research and development of treatment.

Any and all donations will make a difference, thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.
