Dundee Kiltwalk 2024 · 11 August 2024 ·

Story

In March 2024, one of Owen’s teammates parents suffered a cardiac arrest while playing football for his local amateur team.

He collapsed in front of his son William (Owen’s teammate), his brother and numerous other spectators. Thankfully, surrounding players and coaches performed CPR for 13 minutes until a defibrillator was found at the local shops. William’s father was shocked 3 times until paramedics arrived – the presence of a defibrillator ultimately helped save his life.

Owen and his teammates including several parents are doing the 21.9 mile Kiltwalk from St Andrews to Dundee to raise funds so that his team can have their own defibrillator available at all games and training sessions.

William’s dad is similar ages with myself, and I told Owen that something as simple as doing this walk could save someone’s life.

Or as simple as just giving £s… cough cough

If you are still reading Owen and his teammates are all aged around 9.
