This week, I am joining the Junior League of London and especially my fellow Trustees in its 10th Little Black Dress Initiative #LBDI, an awareness and fundraising campaign about poverty in London.
A shocking 27% of Londoners live in poverty, and single parent households, overwhelmingly led by women, are the most vulnerable, with a staggering 53% in poverty in London today. With the cost of living crisis these numbers are only going to get higher. Funds raised in this week’s campaign support JLL’s mission and programmes combatting poverty in London.

I'm hopeful you’ll support me in raising funds to support our Community Partners. I've set a relatively modest target and any amount at all is appreciated, especially in these tough times. The cost of your daily coffee works and will also go directly to funding our programmes.

The Junior League of London is an organisation of women whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

LBDI is a social media advocacy campaign, anchored in London Challenge Poverty Week, and the need for help is greater than ever. Poverty is deeply rooted in the UK, and millions of families are struggling because of financial hardship. Since 2014, the Junior League of London's LBDI has raised more than £150,000, benefitting local community partners and the League's outreach and volunteer training programs.
