As a rather unfit final-year student at university, I thought that it is about time to set the next challenge to work towards. With that said, alongside many other students, I was provided the incredible opportunity by Nottingham Trent Students Union (NTSU) and Choose a Challenge to task myself with the goal of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2023 (a rather ambitious goal for someone lacking on the fitness side I know). 

I will be climbing in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF). Meningitis is a life-threatening illness that can kill or cause disability within hours. Small children and young adults are at high risk; however, all ages can be affected. Globally, meningitis affects more than 2.5m people each year, with 1/10 people dying as a result. 

By taking on this challenge I hope to raise awareness and help those affected by meningitis by helping the MRF campaign for vaccines, invest in research, educate about the symptoms and most importantly defeat the illness by 2030. 

From now up until August 30th, 2023, I will be doing fundraising events and activities to help raise as much money as possible for the amazing charity Meningitis Research Foundation. However, any donations through here will also be greatly appreciated :)
