Story
Four months ago, our world changed when Freddie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, we have been learning to navigate a life we never expected for him.
It has been an incredibly difficult time for our family carrying the weight of such a misunderstood and all consuming condition.
We have done everything we can to help Freddie see that this diagnosis does not define him and will never beat him - no matter how many interruptions, pain and stress it brings.
Freddie has shown so much bravery, but like anyone living with Type 1, there are days when it feels too overwhelming and days when he has felt like he just can’t do it. As his parents, we are doing our best to make sure he doesn’t lose himself and the light he brings to everything he does and every person he meets.
There has been a time of deep grief for the freedom and childhood that has been so cruelly taken away from both of our children - Lily was diagnosed with Type 1 when she was just three years old - but we need to keep moving forward and find happiness again.
This March, Freddie and Lily have decided to take on a challenge together by running 62 miles in four weeks to raise money for Diabetes UK to help other children and families facing the same journey.
We are so proud of them.
If you are able to support Freddie and Lily and sponsor their challenge, we would be so grateful. Every donation will mean the world to them.
Thank you 🤍💙
