We protect local wildlife to provide a wilder future for everyone.

Story

Little Woolden Moss  was bought by Lancashire Wildlife Trust in 2012, as bare peat site after mechanical peat extraction. Ten years into it’s restoration LWM has already become a functioning nature reserve.

Local people, through @FriendsofChatMoss and the Mossland Volunteers are supporting the ongoing restoration by donating their time to working on the site (13,000 hours over the first ten years) and also through fundraising.  We want to buy thousands of plug plants from Princess Park Garden Centre in Irlam (a social enterprise) to carry on greening the bare areas of the site. Also, we have started renting a portaloo for the comfort and convenience of anyone visiting the site, and plan to continue with this as long as we have funds available.

Please consider sponsoring this amazing project :))
