Ride to Recovery; 3000 miles across America for PWRR BENEVOLENT FUND because Our Regiment needs our support #FiercePride

raised by 264 supporters

We help those whos lives are affected to as a result of serving our country.

Charity Registration No. 1024418

The Friends of the PWRR has been set up to raise funds to support members of The Regiment, both past and present.

Over the last 10 years The Army Tigers have seen continuous action in Iraq, the Balkans and Afghanistan. We have among our number one of the only living recipients of the Victoria Cross – Johnson Beharry – as well as a many others who have won gallantry awards such as the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross and the Military Cross.

This level of action takes its toll.

The Friends are driven by the desire to do whatever we can to help our Regiment during and after periods of service, whether it is assistance in making life a little easier to cope with following disability or supporting soldiers as they make the transition from Army to civilian life. One such example being Sgt Jay Baldwin.

Jay stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in 2012. He was left with multiple injuries; the most obvious of which being that he was a bilateral amputee above the knee. This was a life-changing situation and the loss of career and prolonged pain had a negative impact on him and his family life.  However, we recently funded a pioneering procedure called Osseointergration, a means by which Jay will be able to walk pain free, without sockets.

Ride To Recovery

As a result of the support that Jay has received from The Friends he has committed to taking part in this fundraising challenge in order to help replenish the funds that were used for his operation.

3000 Miles. 170,000 meters of climbs, 14 days.

He is training to ride in tandem across the USA, covering between 200 – 300 miles a day, as a means to contribute to the care that we, as an organization, can offer to those who may face similar circumstances as a result of serving their country.

However, in order to make this challenge a success we need you!
